East West (Oost West) Forum Dordrecht Holland

The symposium was officially opened by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in 1983

Queen Beatrix enjoys visiting exhibitions, studios of artists and manifestation pertaining to art, especially when sculpture is involved. She is very knowledgeable about the arts especially fine art and sculpture in particular.

Behind the queen is Maarten Vrolijk, the Queen's Commissioner of South Holland at that time. He has always been interested in art and had close connections to the Sector Dordt of the Dutch Sculptor's Association.
