Originally the location for permanent installation was to be found in or around Witterda. There I selected a prehistorically interesting chalk rise just below Witterda. During the organization of the location of gothic, the town of Witterda was a part of the county of Erfurt but her boundaries were changed after which it became part of Gotha. Erfurt wanted to keep the sculpture and placed it in one of its parks alongside the main road to the center.
