Dirksland, Holland - its sculpture seen from the
satellite

a satellite view of a landscape design for Highway S47 in the
south west of Holland Between Dirksland and Middelharnis runs Highway S47. The province of South Holland asked a sculptor to make a proposal for incorporating art into the highway environment. The sculptor Lucien den Arend was selected to make the final proposal and his sculptural contribution can be compared to a sculptor's landscape design. The sculptor also made the final design for the bridge over the Dirksland Canal. Highway S47 runs from the top left to the lower right of the satellite image. The dike section is in the center, to the left of which bridge can be seen. The Italian Poplar screens are to the left of the bridge. To see see the work from eye level click this image

I found these images of my sculptures on www.maps.google.com. Legal experts could probably tell more about who has the right to publicize these images - is it I, who's sculpture is depicted on the satellite photographs, or is it Google who owns the rights to the images? As for me, I'll wait and see. But as far as Google's maps site is concerned - I can recommend a visit to everyone - there are many services Google gives on these pages, but my biggest thrill was being able to find my sculptures.
