Goeree-Overflakkee
1984/1990 and designs for Highway S47 (now N215) on Goeree
OverflakkeeThe department of construction of the Province
of Zuid-Holland NL, commissioned Lucien den Arend to make
proposals for a section of highway S47 (now N215) bypassing
the towns Middelharnis, Sommelsdijk and Dirksland on the
former island of Goeree-Overflakkee. The Poplar Screens
and the Dirksland bridge are two of the main sculptural
elements by Lucien den Arend in this project.
